PPCA Ltd was appointed to promote the former Forest Furnishings site in Dalkeith for mixed use development.
The site was identified in the Finalised Midlothian Local Plan for Class 4 and 5 Business Use. However, as a consequence of representation by PPCA Ltd at the Local Plan Examination and the subsequent recommendations of the Scottish Government Reporter, the Adopted Local Plan did provide for reconsideration in advance of the next Local Development Plan should circumstances change.
PPCA Ltd, following an intensive marketing strategy and consultation process, argued that circumstances had changed and that the Local Plan allocation was no longer appropriate. A 14 acre mixed use planning application for planning permission in principle was lodged in 2010 and planning permission has now been granted.
